Lebaran 2009

Selamat Idul Fitri, Mohon Maaf Lahir dan Batin...

Gimana lebaran tahun ini?
Rekor! Tahun ini, keluarga kami menyambangi 4 rumah, 3 di daerah Bekasi dan 1 tetangga dua rumah sebelah kanan. Wuiiihhh! Kami batu menapakkan kaki di rumah jam setengah sembilan malam.

Priority Lists

Tak bisa tidur malam-malam (dan sekarang sudah jadi dini hari) membuatku asik berselancar di dunia maya. Just recently, i ended up looking at a post from Seth Godin titled Priority List.

What shockingly surprised me was that it was the issue which repeatedly discussed by me! That is one of the things that i hardly do, although my dad kept saying to me to always make a tomorrow's to-do list every night before i go to bed in order to make me aware of what need to be done. But i kept ignoring it.

One of my best friend, Grace, is an excellent example of a person who likes to make those lists. And as far as i know, she is so efficient!

In that post, Godin wrote a comment about making priority lists:

This is an unheralded skill, something successful people do really well and others struggle with.

I guess, i'm still struggling...

13 Agustus

Today is my birthday, my 27th birthday. Am I that old?

Dua tahun yang lalu, aku seakan amnesia. Kalau ditanya umur, aku selalu menyebutkan angka 27. Ada apa dengan angka itu?
Tahun ini, aku seakan tak yakin. Benarkah aku sudah 27? Ataukah aku amnesia lagi?

Malam ini, aku bertemu kawan lama. A real good one, actually. Tapi, sedih! Dia lupa kalau hari ini aku ulang tahun. No birthday wishes until i reminded him. Hiks!!!!
Another horrifying thing was, i had to hear my best friend cried because of my stupidity. Although it wasn't my fault entirely, it was sucks to hear it. Benarkah aku sudah 27? Gosh!

Karima Yolita Sedang Bingung

Karima Yolita punya sebuah cita-cita... dan sekarang ia ada di persimpangan jalan yang, menurutnya, keduanya mampu membawanya ke tempat yang ia cita-citakan. Ia hanya boleh melewati salah satu jalan karena sifat kedua jalan itu yang hampir bertolak belakang.

Dua Kali Tonton Laskar Pelangi

Kalau yang pertama kali cuma berdua, hari ini saya menonton lagi berdua-puluh-satu. :))

Kalau yang pertama kali telat masuk satu jam, hari ini saya telat masuk hampir satu setengah jam!

Memang, walaupun sudah menonton dua kali, aku masih bisa menikmati. Tapi, pendapatku tetap sama: alur film itu terlalu renggang, sehingga cenderung membuatku bosan. Konflik baru sangat terasa ketika film akan berakhir: ketika Lintang terpaksa putus sekolah untuk menanggung beban hidup keluarganya yang ditinggal kedua orang tua. Bahkan ketika aku harus keluar ruangan teater ketika aku pertama kali aku menonton, aku tidak merasa kehilangan banyak cerita. Dan tampaknya, dengan hanya menonton setengah hingga akhir filmFilm itu terlalu deskriptif, lebih layak dibuat sinetron dengan potongan durasi 30 menit sekali tayang, atau seperti mini seri Band of Brothers yang cenderung memperlihatkan momen-momen penting dari sebuah perjalanan hidup. Maaf, untuk Riri Riza. Film anda memang laris, tapi membosankan.

Walaupun membosankan, aku tetap bisa menangis jika mendengar lagu laskar pelangi-nya nidji, jika melihat cuplikan film itu. I cant deny that the inspiration itself has touched me, touched my soul.

I have this one book called little black book. I call it that way because i don't want anyone to read that. It contains my dreams which mostly are so embarrassing. Why would anyone still need to reach for those? I guess it's because I'm not that perfect.

In Renald Kasali's book of Change!, there is one quote from John Henry, said:

To live is to change, and to be perfect is to change often.

That quote reminds me not to stop changing myself in order to be a better person. And to know what changes need to be made, i need to know my flaws. It surely means that i have to be open-minded to a lot of critics. I must open my heart to receive what is best for me

This is a tribute to my mother. At home, i hardly changed myself. I was known as a stubborn child, not to mention a selfish one and other ill behaviours. :)


I, now, change...

Ketika Lebaran Tak (lagi) Dihargai

Apa arti Idul Fitri bagimu?
Apakah hanya sekedar liburan?
Apakah itu berarti hari merayakan izin makan sepuasnya?
What is it? because i'd like to know.

Lebaran tahun ini lebih bermakna bagiku daripada Lebaran tahun-tahun sebelumnya karena ia berarti penanda keberhasilanku dalam mencapai target Ramadhan yang baru saja aku lampaui. Targetku sendiri bukanlah sesuatu yang muluk, bahkan aku sendiri merasa malu untuk menuliskannya di sini. Anyway, it wasn't executed very well before, but, at recent Ramadhan, it was succesfully established. I'm very proud of myself.


Hari ini, ketika aku melewatkan detik-detik Lebaran terbaikku, i was surprised by how people surround me carried out this (supposed to be) beautiful day. They still chose their own ego: lebih memilih untuk tidak datang ke tempat silaturahim yang jaraknya hanya beberapa menit menggunakan angkot (the angkot itself beroperasi hari ini serta lewat depan rumahnya) hanya karena saudaranya lupa menjemputnya dan ada seseorang yang tidak ia sukai hadir di sana; memilih untuk memperumit masalah yang (sebenarnya) bisa dibuat sangat-sangat sederhana.


Tidakkah Ramadhan dan puasa telah mengajarkan sesuatu kepadamu?
Setidaknya, keduanya mengajarkanmu akan arti bersabar dan menahan diri.
Setidaknya, Lebaran memperlihatkan mulianya memaafkan orang lain.
Kemana perginya fitrah yang baru saja dianugerahkan Sang Maha kepadamu?

My name is Karima Yolita.
I was born on 13th August 1982, from a Javanese father and an Arabic mother, that's why i got the unique appearance.
I have two little sisters, which makes me the oldest, and I live with my parents in West Jakarta.
Now, I work as an elementary teacher in a private school nearby.
I have several best friends and according to the personality plus test, i can be considered as a melancholic girl, but after i interact with my dearest best friend for more than 10 years, i develop the sanguine and choleric character.


I like a person who:

- is a gadget freak

- believes that we, humans, can create nirvana in this world, and i'm doing it by becoming a lovely teacher for the community, as well as a great mother for my family

For me, everyone is a perfect being, that includes all the flaws within that person which make him/her even more beautiful.


Although my life hadn't been always smooth and wonderful, it makes me the way i am today and it makes me feel great!

I think the most luxurious thing in the world is the ability and the humbleness of willing to learn from anyone. Intelligence cannot just be given from school, it can only be earnt by hardworking, and it's definitely illinear with someone's scholar degree.

Being mellow is tiring.

Actually, I'm currently waiting for one big decision.
I cannot do anything but wait, and I hope the waiting is not in vain.
Waitings frequently stop me for doing everything.
Waitings always make me mellow.
And now I'm being mellow, and it's tiring.

(Akhirnya) Mengganti Template Blog

Setelah beberapa hari berkutat dengan Mbah Google dan minta tips ganti template blogger dari nova, akhirnya saya berhasil juga mengganti tampilan blog ini.

Well, Nova menunjukkanku satu posting yang memberikan tips cara mengunduh template blogger dari satu situs kemudian menggunakannya. I followed all of the instructions carefully and edited some of the html codes in order to have a perfect page. It's another milestone for me!
